WTB: Video light stuff
Took a video camera into Devil's last weekend, and realized that a single 18W HID is definitely not enough light (surprise...).
So, I'm looking for another 18/21W HID light head (with or without E/O connector), and one or two video reflectors for those.

IMHO 21W is not enough. Look for 35W+, 50W or anything above 5K lumen total. 21W when diffused will not give enough light even with the best camcorder.

Ron, I sent you a PM..... :)

I am working on some 35W HID lights right now that may be what you need.

I've been looking at some new video lights myself.
I'd like to get a couple of 35W lights, and if they have at least a 2 hour burn that's a big plus.

35W HIDs are in. Fired up and work great... There is only one drawback to the car HIDs... The ballast is 3" by 3" by 1"... These will need to go in at least a 4" canister to have enough wall to install the latches. If I had a bigger mill, a rectangular box may work better. I'll have to consult with my machinist buddy on this! At 12v they pull about 4 amps. At 15 volts, the ballast shuts down. If it could be fed with a 14.8 pack, 8 18650 batteries could power it up for 2 hours. A fully charged 18650 may cause the ballast to shut down. I'll try that.
