Company Question
OK so im am sure i am about to stir up some stuff with this question but i dont really have anyone else that can give me the information i need. We are in need of a good tech diving line at our store. We were going to take up salvo but we all know where that ended up so then we were going to take up leviathan but we back out because of al the leagal stuff going on. So here is the stired up question Halcyon i dont know that much about GUE or DIR dont really care but does there stuff sell? i have read good things i have read bad things but i wont to know how the cave diving community feels about them?

Do you have alot of established tech divers going through there?... or do you think you're going to sell to more aspiring tech divers?
Halcyon stuff comes at a high price point, and upcoming divers will probably respond better to a cheaper alternative like Dive Rite, Deep Sea Supply, or Oxycheq.
This is basically me talking out of my ass. I don't have any background in retailing dive gear, but its just how I think it'd go.

The shop I teach for lost both Halcyon and Oxycheq because they didn't sell enough of their product to keep the line. It has so frustrated my shop owner and he won't even look at Dive Rite now....totally burned out.
In both cases the company called him and said "place a huge order now, or we're dumping you".
So keep that in mind.

DiveRite has a very complete line of very good products at reasonable prices. Hollis (Oceanic) has come out with a nice line of tech gear that they are pricing very reasonably as well.

I agree with Bugman but Im talking out mine too. Im wondering why your burned out with DR but Im affraid to ask. For the record I am satisfied being a billboard for Dive Rite and Im glad they exist.
-
Dive Rite. Full lineup of gear and easy to deal with. Side mount, back mount doubles and singles, dry suits, lights, fins, masks, computers, regs and about every accessory you can imagine.
-
DR has good gear for sure and reasonably priced too... but as a shop owner you should also look at the service and support you get from the manufacturer. DR spends a lot of effort on ensuring that their dealers get the support they need to sell the product.

Dive Rite
To me the answer is pretty simple: Dive Rite
They have a complete line of quality technical equipment and they have good customer service. I dive with their regulators, spg's, computers, fins, wings, plates, dry suit, reels............you get the picture.

I like everything Dive Rite sells except their regulators. (They're the same, tired old design everybody else who doesn't actually make their own reg sells.) But if you carry a high performance line such as Scubapro or Atomic, it won't matter. Just sell everything else they carry.
(Both of the shops I work for are Dive Rite dealers, but neither one sells their regs - one is a Scubapro dealer, the other Atomic Aquatics.)

Leviathan
Maybe you could wait till the dust settles and go with Leviathan. Corey and Joel have always treated me well.
