Oceanic Data Plus 2 questions

I just purchased a used Oceanic Data Plus 2. I want to use it with my PC. The owner's manual is a bit sketchy about this part since you have to buy the software seperately.

My questions are:
Is the new Oceanic Oceanlog software compatible with this computer and is any generic off the shelf UV reader compatible with both the software and the computer?

I did write to Oceanic. I never heard back.

Yes...
That's what I got. I did hear back from Oceanic and got it working. I think it's entering my oxygen content incorrectly, but I haven't checked it over completely yet.
Other than that no worries.

The reason I mentioned it is because I thought it was inexpensive and matched the model of computer you are using. I need to contact Oceanic if I could use it with a Data Plus computer. I hate to call them because they were less than helpful during my past encounter.

should have one in stock, but they got way more than $50 out of me. I wish I had known about this link before. Maybe printing that page out would give you some leverage, but this is all assuming you're in a big enough furry to drive up to Ft Laud.

It works fine with my Data Plus 2, although as I mentioned it is showing nitrox mixes that are incorrect.

You'll need a USB to serial adapter unless you have an ancient computer.

The only software that will work with the serial/IR
interface is the Serial version of OceanLog for the Data Plus 2,
Version 2.0.4.1, found at the very bottom of the software page of our
website, http://www.oceanicworldwide.com/services_software.html.

I notice the one you're looking at says parallel, mine is serial. My ancient computer interface trivia is a little rusty, but you might want to ask about that.
