Default Interesting article about cave diving in Indiana

Researching activities in Indiana for a possible job there, didn't realize there was a lot of cave diving happening there. Thought you guys might enjoy.
Please take what you read with a few grains of salt, it wasn't written with cave divers in mind.

There are quite a few cave dives in Indiana. I know one of the owners of Blue Springs, and he could help you find some of the other cave dives.. Just remember they are colder, with lower visibility than Florida.

might want to talk to Bill Rennaker. I think he's originally from the area. I also recall some old NSS-CDS magazines w/ Indiana outings..

There is great cave diving in Indiana, just not great visibility or ease of access. Sam is great resource for Indiana cave diving. Conditions improve in extreme cold or drought, but I don't think I'd let local cave diving factor much into your decision to move (unless you are really into cold and lower viz)

Jim Fishback did some diving there. I remember an article and pictures from the NSS convention guidebook in Marengo, Indiana.

Lower visibility, so only like 40' of visibility? That sounds rough.

I did see him at Bill Rennaker's retirement party. Has been a long time, and he looked very good.

I think you guys have just been spoiled by Florida water in general. I mean in reality you can only see as far as your light goes anyway... PennyRoyal quarry in Hopkinsville KY was amazing at 40' visibility... and that was open water.
