    Default Marianna accommodations

    Hi all,

Wondering about the availability of motels in the Marianna area after the hurricane. Been checking Trip Adviser and only a couple of places show up.
So hoping for some first hand information.
    Thanks, Al

I would bet with all the damage there they will be at a premium. The last time I talked to Rob his Caverns Cottage was rented out and that was prior to the hurricane.

Call Edd. I am not sure if any of his rentals made it ok or not.

"I went to a fight the other night, and a hockey game broke out."

All of the rentals at Edd's have been severely damaged. Much of Marianna is still without power.

Both rentals are good... we are staying in the "bedding plane" (double wide across from JB) this week. Power was restored and water was hooked up today. No internet but that is being worked on. Only damage to this trailer was the roof over the front porch was destroyed/gone. The back porch with the gear storage and charging station was unharmed.

To my knowledge the rates are the same as before.

The rest of marianna including this property is destroyed... hundreds of thousands of trees down. It looks like a war zone here. It will take 50 years for the landscape to recover. I know Edd is very grateful for all the support from the cave community, as the rest of marianna did not have the support he did for cleanup. Last night he was on a tractor hauling debris away for a neighbor until after midnight and then was up to teach our CCR class this morning.

We just wrapped up a week at the Mill Pond... Cave Adventure it's is open for business teaching classes, pumping gas and selling gear. The diving is great however the community has been forever transformed by the devastation caused from the hurricane.
