I have a set of doubled Faber MP-72's at work. Will check the markings and verify the dimensions tomorrow.

My Scubapro "Slimline" 72s are at CCDS. Perhaps the stampings and dimensions can be compared. They are HEAVY, but only 6" dia.

I also have MP72s, they are shorter and 6.75-6.9" dia. Also HEAVY, rated 3000, 3300 with the + to get the full 72cu'.

    Default Faber MP-72

I checked these tanks against published dimensions and they are a perfect match. Cylinders are 6.8" to 6.9" in diameter and 20.5" in height without the valves. Stamped markings are highlighted with permanent marker for easier reading. They are 3000psi working pressure with a 10% overfill taking it to 3300psi to make them 72 cu/ft.

I have seen plenty of these cylinders over the years but never the originally posted cylinders. Kind of interested in figuring out what they are exactly. The Faber website gives specifications for many different cylinders in current production but not the originally posted cylinders.

Thank you both for the help on the I'D. I don't think they are 6" diameter though... I can check when I get home next weekend. See first pic of them lying next to a post lp80...same diameter.
