Default Alachua city council meeting oct. 22 at 6pm

The City of Alachua is at it again. They large parcel of land this time north of the Mill Creek Preserve/Alachua Sink is under contract for development, by a private party. This parcel was to be set aside as its the recharge basin for the Mill Creek Preserve, and includes Mill Creek. In short they would like to turn our preserve into a sewer for a 500 unit planned development right over the upstream tunnel of Alachua Sink. We need volunteers to show up and give input.

Again? You think they'd get a clue, but I guess the almighty dollar rules etc. Sigh...

The unshaded area to the right in the red area is what they want to develop, including the area right above the cave!!!

The parcel in red is what was supposed to be set aside now the unshaded portion is up for development. Still a lot of land that is being set a side including retrofitting of runoff so its mixed.

You can download the agenda and see there is some good, but still development over the cave is a non-starter.
