    Default Madison?

Wondering if anyone has been to Madison this week and might have a conditions report.

    Thanks,

the flow has been a yo-yo according to USGS gauges. 105-->145-->85 cfs

based on conductance readings, i expect the front of the cave (entrance to martz) to be crappy and beyond than to get nicer. Go from Martz to Rotorooter, theres a source back there and should be nice. Zumgood is SM and not for multiple divers. Do the jump towards courtyard, nice zig zag with side tunnels to check out.

At 85cfs, its about as an easy swim as it gets

We were last weekend. Basically it's green and maybe 30-40 ft viz below Martz, past Martz the green goes away but there is still a fair amount of particulate but about 60' of viz, and past the half hitch the particulate went away and it was about 100' of viz. The flow was low by Madison standards.

Dove Saturday 8/25/2018. Viz Range: 40-80 ft viz. Basin good. Color good. Flow Ok. Started lp85s @ 3800. Did Godzilla circuit. Cavern viz: 35-40'. Main line and Godzilla viz 70'. 24:20 to Godzilla room. Dive time 36:50 back at rabbit hole. Took planned option to go into Cross-Under tunnel. Only did 200ft p due to line condition, turned at Dive time 41:01. Cross under viz 45'. 53:30 total time to resurface. 71F at surface, 69F at depth.
Had so much gas leftover, lp85s @ 1900, did another dive. Went up main line. Good viz again. 70' at least, and 80' probably further back. Went to half-hitch. 22:40 at half-hitch. Turned with 150 above thirds. Returned to Reaper in Cavern at 33:30. Safety at 35:10. Surfaced at 40:10. 73F at surface, 69 at depth.
    Fantastic.

whats wrong w/ the line in the crossunder?

About 75-100 ft past start of cross-under main line, after second/third mount, the line went slack and buried itself under silt. (This is about 200p from rabbit hole). The line remained slack and partially buried in and out of floor. Since I was taking a planned end of dive option, I chose not to continue. Our plan was only to jump to the line, use no more than 100 lbs and then turn. I just wanted to get a glimpse of the start of the system. Perhaps a mount was moved, or a diver broke it further down the cave -- I don't know, but it's slack after the second/third mount. (lying on cave floor), partially buried, partially lying on top. The first couple segments of the line are OK, and taut. We followed our plan and turned.

After flooding events the bottom topography changes in that area a lot. Want to be careful because in this area line will get buried, and divers will put in a new line, so when the topography changes from a flood, there will be a dual tangle of line.
