This is a good article from the New York Times, it goes into some more detail:

Great write up. The last diver out was Dr Harry Harris. While loosing the line might be pretty scary, you have to remember Harry was on a rebreather, and had a lot of time to find the line again. He is also one of the top cave divers in the world.

Here is some underwater video that someone posted a link to on facebook. The visibility was surprisingly good.

It is my understanding this is not video of the recent rescue but rather of a similar situation which happened awhile ago in a different part of the world.

I don't think I've be implying anyone was a chomo on a public forum unless there was proof. Egos abound I guess....

There was no need to characterize what Musk did a “PR stunt”; obviously the same goes for calling the rescue diver “pedo guy.” Unless Musk is versed in cave diving, he wouldn’t understand the nature of some restrictions. By the same token, the contraption he helped create might be useful in some future rescue efforts. He has a tendency to involve himself in things that he doesn’t fully understand. But the same trait has helped him create paypal, Tesla, shoot rockets into space, and dig underground tunnels for high-speed commuting. Having Musk pay attention to cave diving/rescue is not a bad thing. Even if partially misguided.

Elon Musk is being a baby that didnt get his way. Lost alot of respect for him in his bs.

And when he said the dude was "pedo" was he calling him a pedophile or was it some hipster or euro slang I dont know. If he's calling the dude a pedophile in reference to a recovery of children then he's a real a-hole.

My wife keeps track of these gossip sites... always knows things like who the next guy to be taken down in a scandal and stuff a few days before it hits mainstream. Lately she's been saying Elon and his companies are about to crash.
