Otter Bay Wetsuits makes a custom hood
    I have a 6mm and a 12mm. I am happy with both.

the issue isnt that i need a custom hood. i have a regular sized head. I wanted g231n. otterbay doesn't have it to my knowledge. if they did i'd put up with their enormous logo

Whats so special about the g231 neoprene? Is it not compressed with depth? I know people with k01 hoods but when I ask them whats so special I dont get a straight answer. I think the real answer is they dont know and saw some guys with them so had to have them.

the bubbles are nitrogen. it doesn't compress as much and the neoprene lasts MUCH longer before you need to replace it. i had my last one for about 7 years before it started to go (it was still pretty good at the end)

the k01 stuff is really good too. doesn't compress much but is also super stretchy

My K01 hoods have all bounced back completely after many deep dives. Also the 5mm is particularly comfortable. I’m trying out a new 8mm hood tomorrow that’s cut slightly different than the one I bought a few years ago. We’ll see how that goes

Man, you guys are crazy with those thicknesses, I've been using a Fourth Element Thermocline and only recently (last ~10 dives) have switched to a Scubapro Everflex 3mm, super comfy. But I've never done anything past 2.5 hours, so idk

You gonna want something thicker on longer dives
