It used to be common practice to drop scooters at the three way split. Cave conservation plus all the silt issues. There was a death partly due to scootering past there if I remember

The only time I have seen Little River "blown out" from something other than a flood, was a team trying to scooter past the Dome room

I believe just before the park entrance there is a locked vehicle gate blocking a road that you can walk along, the well is there. It's been a long time since I walked over there but I remember it being pretty obvious.

Just about got run over by two scooter divers coming out at the dome room. Took a look and saw a silt monster coming my way. Turned the dive.

Well thank you for that pun intended. D.H.

Very late the the game- but chiming in..

I saw this very occurrence at Ginnie last year! Thought I was narked or taking a C02 hit because as I'm swimming through the sand dunes I look over to see a diver with a Tekna, a 10' tow rope and another diver cruising by! I took a picture but a blur was all I was able to manage. I can't believe this is such a common thing for them to do..

That might have been the same team pulling the same old routine.
They were known to both dive Ginnie together until the diver in tow got banned from diving at Ginnie for other reasons.

after the reline, add 100' to the LR map distance notations to correlate with current markers.
Note that the reline ended in the dome room so those markers beyond are from the old survey .

I can attest that one should not scooter past the three-way split. I will neither confirm nor deny how I know this.

The three-way split to the dome room is a sandy bottom and can be scootered but it is a short distance and somewhat tight so not really worth it. Past the dome room it is small and the floor is covered in light-poofy silt all the way to the end of the line.
