    EDIT!!! TYPO ALERT - NOT 3% . . . 1.3%

    Political correctness?

The answer to this question is in the introduction pages of the USN dive manual, rev 6. (copied below)

Now, let me point out something very relevant. The new VVAL18M tables the USN adopted in USN manual r6, are NOT the same plans that were tested in the Nedu shallow model test. These new VVAL18 M tables ( the M is for Modified) have their deco time slashed in half when compared to the original VVAL18 plans.

That is quite a significant difference. So please be careful not to imply some fallacy connection from the shallow stop test to the published USN manual tables. Nothing from the test made it to real world use.

Yes. Every time I was bent, it was 100% free. No one charged me anything to get bent. Treatment, well that's another subject.

A ways back into my diving interests I recall a large manual I purchased from the government called "The NOAA" manual of advanced ocean exploration and Saturation/Deep Diving tables. It had everything related to both the Navy dive tables and beyond. I no longer have this great book but it had amazing information in it as it relates to Deco & Wakulla style diving ! Anyone still have a copy of this ?

Easily available, both this new one and older ones.

You can even find some older versions online as pdfs.

    Sigh.

No matter the written word, y'all will pin on something to rag about.

I support my LDS and therefore take what classes I can with him.

The TDI Extended Range / Trimix manual has the new Navy tables but not new dive planning questions. The 2nd dive plan is not doable under the constraints given, within the new Navy Deco table.

I mistakenly thought others had noticed the difference in the past few years and had reasoned and logical thoughts.

I shall request closure of this thread since there is no foreseeable use.

Maybe you should read you're OP again.

If you're really interested in why TDI changed their tables and not the questions, you should ask Brian Carney directly. He is very responsive to emails and I'm sure he'll be glad to help you out.

You've obviously gotten "answers" albeit mixed with the usual responses you garner, so closing the thread doesn't seem to make sense. I don't think the mods would close any other thread of similar nature, so not sure why yours should be.
