    Default Visitors in the Eye

Curious what visitors you may have encountered during deco in the Eye at Ginnie.

Jef and I were doing a deco stop this past weekend when a largish snake showed up. It clearly had no interest in us and we respected each others personal space. It was all pretty neat until it disappeared into the rocks and I could no longer track it.

A few minutes later, it appeared below me and swam out into the open and up. After some internet browsing, I am tempted too claim it was a 3 1/2 or 4 foot water moccasin.

Any one else have a similar adventure there? or elsewhere?

(... and man made stuff doesn't count!)

Last summer there was a cotton mouth who appeared to be making it's nest right next to the Little Devil steps. I have no knowledge of herpetology, do cotton mouth dive deep underwater? Or do they just "snorkel" along the surface?
Take only photos, leave only bubbles, kill only time.

I encounter snorkelers asking for a breath off of my regulator almost everytime I've been there.

Water moccasin eat fish and other things they can find and catch in the water, and they will hunt at the bottom.
