    Default High Springs 1/6-1/7/13

Hello all! I'm going to be in The High Springs area on 1/6-1/7 of next year and am looking for a buddy/mentor. I'm certified intro to cave and consider myself to be a solid diver. Having said that, I did my certification in Mexico, on Cozumel island and understand that Florida caves are quite a bit different. I would like to buddy up with someone who is willing to show me the ropes and I would love to be able to dive 3-4 different caves while I'm there.

I am not sure of my exact dates but I am looking on spending January in High Springs. Check with me in Dec and if I am there I'd be happy to do an intro level dive with you.

Can anyone tell me what sort of cave and surface temperatures I can expect in early January in the High Springs area?

    Thanks,

    Kristopher

That's water temperature in the cave and at the surface. I've seen air temps in January ranging between 22° and 80°. Usually, mid-day highs are in the 50s and 60s.

Still sounds nice and toasty to me. Water temps up here are generally down into the lower 40's with mid-day highs in the teens to lower 20's that time of year.

Where's up here Kristopher. It will be nice during the day then cool off at night. Just leave a jacket in the car. Temps in Springs will be 72 degrees year round as Russell said.

Massachusetts. The weather down there sounds much nicer.
