A lot of other people use this but I feel that it is very appropriate!

That is an awesome shot!
It's not the years in your life that matter, but the life in your years.
I realize that they are different BCDs with different lift capacities. However, I'm asking about the mods. My Armadillo, which I purchased in 2006, has the loop bungees and the shoulder straps routed to the waist strap.
As pointed out, the SMS100 looks amazingly similar to the Oxycheq Recon. The SMS50 (which I own) looks like the UTD Z trim (which I also own) with a sewn on butt plate. I am not commenting on Hollis' originality. I am asking if the modifications are similar to how the Armadillo is set up and why you are calling them Edd's mods. It may very well be that Edd was the first one to ever set up a BCD this way.
I don't know Edd, but I know of his wonderful reputation. And I also realize that it's others on the forum that are attributing all the mods to him. So please do not take my question as an attack on Edd.
I have only seen pictures of a CA modified SMS100, but have handled and set up the regular SMS100. Perhaps I am missing something. If I am, I apologize.
N...B looking good! Nice work Boss.
I don't think he was, although he is altering the stock Hollis SMS100 semi-commercially.
Minor differences I've seen: The dump on the Hollis faces down unlike the Armadillo. The rails are smaller. The butt plate is larger. The wing is larger (in theory, not sure about "true" lift). Inflator hose on the SMS100 routes from the lower left.
I don't think anyone's suggesting Edd "invented" the concept(s) behind the mods him and Frank are doing. He's just doing them on behalf of many people, hence its been referred to as "SMS100 with Edd mods".
I have one, I'm very happy with it. Would I be as satisfied with an Armadillo or Recon? Maybe, those weren't available for me to demo. Frank loaned me his personal SMS100 with their mods done and I liked it, it worked well basically off the rack, so I bought one.
I have swapped the inflator and dump valve on mine and ordered the old school bungee kit. I think I want to try one out with the shoulder straps moved before I alter mine. It feels fine so far though. I don't have anything to compare it to but a bp/w setup.
