N....D, somewho I think you do! Ps, 11 dives in 5 days in the Edd-mod. rig, really like the way it dives (5 different cave systems).

I bought a SMS100 wing from Greenwood_60 and built my own harness for it. Then I took Edd's sm class and his crew helped me implement all his mods (on my harness). Since the first dive, I've had perfect trim with it. While I only have 20 dives on it, over half of them were in MX diving wet and the others are in NFL diving dry. My buddy says I drank too much of Edd's punch, but the system works so well I can't see ever going back to back-mount for cave diving. I'm still a little tentative about diving sm from a pitching boat deck in the ocean, but I'll just have to try the next time I go wreck diving...

Nothing against Edd, but aren't all the modifications just to set it up exactly like an Armadillo? Yet everybody keeps calling it Edds mods. And I realize its olds school (pre armadillo).

Nope, not even close. The mods are specific to the SMS100. Some of the mods can be done to a Nomad, but the bulk of them are unique to the SMS100. Comparing the CA SMS100 to an Armadillo is like comparing apples to oranges...

Why doesn't Nick just fix the Hollis and give Edd a royalty payment so Frank can answer the phone already?

I asked Edd (or Frank) that question. While I don't recall his exact words, he said something to the effect that Hollis had to order a boatload of them from the manufacturer and would probably not make any changes to the SMS100 until most of those were sold.

I'm surprised that some other manufacturer hasn't just cloned the thing, it does work and work well, but it ain't rocket science to copy it.

Cloning the SMS100 is a lot more difficult than cloning a Razor. IOW, it would cost a lot of money in tooling etc... plus, Hollis may have IP on the design. They certainly have pockets deep enough to go after anyone who infringes on thier IP. But, to your point, a smart manufacturer would offer Edd a deal he could not refuse to assist them in designing the next generation of SM rig.

Isn't the Hollis a clone of the Recon?
