    Thanks for the post. Interesting read. I kayak in that area fairly often and it is every bit as inspiring as the author would have you believe.

    Kind of interesting to be paddling down the river and come across a massive bridge in the middle of nowhere...

    Thanks for posting this! I live a couple of miles from the south end. I kayak the area, and do some photography. I will try to post some pics.

    So if they breach the dam, will it open up dive sites?

    That far south on the uplift it is rare the springs are divable they tend to be small and sandy. Even Silver Springs does not have much passage like we need. If you are a crayfish you might be happy.

    Found this and enjoyed it.

    Also, if you can find a way to listen to "Rodman Dam" by Lonesome Bert and the Skinny Lizards, it is an awesome song that tells the story of the barge canal.
