hey I was just wondering if anybody have heard of cross threaded neck threads on a steel tank before? The backround story is I dropped my tanks off for hydro they called said the valves were cross threaded into the tank but the tanks were still good even know the valves were cross threaded in. They go out for hydro and and I come back I don`t get a call for a 3 weeks then I call the dive shop and they tell me that the threads in the neck of the tank are shot from the valves being cross threaded in there. So I ask the shop owner why did his tecs tell me the tank was fine? so then he tells me I owe him 130 for the hydro. I said I will pay for the hydro but not full price because these tanks defintly should not have gone out in the first place. He told me know He won`t give me discount its not his problem. So needless to say its been months and I refuse to pay full price and the tanks are still at his shop. So talking to another dive shop and was told there is no way a valve could damage threads on a tank and to go get them and he will take a look at them. So the other day I get a phone call from the first shop telling me to come pick up my tanks or I am getting brought to small claims court for no payment. So in conclusion I want to know if anybody has ever heard of valves messing up the threads on steal tanks.
