You have misquoted and it is out of context as it was in reference to what was happening in England in the late 19th and early 20th century. Give me a good progressive republican like Theodore Roosevelt and i would be happy. Please also note the difference between communism and socialism. West Rutland isn't closed - locals do use the site for target practice, but they are usually okay (they did shoot my car - but accidentally I think). I heard that the caretaker prefers divers to shooters...I have heard a LOT of stories of divers' cars getting broken into recently...
Does that area still a bad drug problem? Haven't been up that way in about 7 years or so...
