It's easier, and perhaps more attractive for the lowest common denominator to go spearfishing, but Onebaddago called it, there are idiots in every diving subculture (sub-subculture?).

I'm fine with you guys staying in caves where you won't get chased by sharks or risk seasickness. I've got a freezer full of grouper, snapper, hogfish and lobster that I need to maintain, and the less competition the better
