I've heard good things about the DR EXP's but haven't tried them on yet.
Argh! Where were you two when I was asking about fins? LOL. I asked about the Mares because they are available here, but could not get first hand feedback.

Good to know. I was debating between the two and ended up ordering the EXP's. Slipstreams do have an attractive price point, but once adding springs were close to the EXP's which I have heard nothing but good things about. I can't wait until they get here. They are going to be my sidemount fins. I currently use XL Jets for everything.
Life is a series of experiences. One after another. Then you die. How cool are your experiences?

Owned a pair of OMS Slipstreams but the foot pocket was way too wide. They were even too wide for a Bear drysuit with rock boots. (You can see several postings about them). Sold them and went to the Hollis F1s and never looked back. More than likely there are other great fins out there but the Hollis work for me.

I dive the EXPs and have sold just about everyone I regularly dive with on them as well. My wife has a set of Quatros, nice fins, but she ended up getting a pair of the EXPs after trying mine. Ive dove her Quatros to try them a few times, they are just not as stuff and don't have as good of control as the EXPs.

Slipstreams, although the Dive Rites are OK too.

Never tried the EXPs. Use the slipstreams exclusively. They are light and strong. I prefer them to jets and turtles. I couldn't stand the Hollis fins. I felt they were too long and floppy. I also didn't have a good backfin result with them as the "side blade" is nearly non existent. I have heard the EXPs will let you go nearly as fast backwards as you go forwards....but I don't like that kind of speed and the grey color. I like to be as close to a ninja as possible for sneak attacks.

For fins, its hard to beat a '58 Cadillac.

The '60 Impala had good fins too, but they turned them sideways for some reason??

The D type Jaguar only had one fin, but it was still cool

Buick angled their fins at a 45 angle, kinda like a modified frog kick

    Lots of fin options here!

Hollis Bat Fin for 1 year so far and they rock! I had jet fins and they held air bubbles and dug into the top of my foot. Hollis bat fin has a really nice built in spring strap so you don't have to buy/pay extra for the metal spring straps. Go Hollis!

If you are looking for fins, first try how they fit. In my experience the footpocket is more important than the blade. (BTW I dive Hollis F1)

I use Scubapro split jet fins for most diving they fit over dry suit boots and Wellingtons and give a good level of propulsion and control.

For carrying in on caving trips to pass short sumps a small light fin is good. I have these from Lidls supermarket.

Cost 15 euros and came with a mask and snorkel the only change is to fit bungie cord for the straps. They fit over boots fine and work well.
