    Default Dang it, google!

Google seems to know everything. And now, the company is sharing its assumptions with you. "It" thinks I'm a 45-54 year old male, with interests in diving/underwater activities, Asia, Yucatan, and Orlando. Hmmmm. Close, but yet significantly wrong

What does Google think you are? http://www.google.com/ads/preferences

    I got this:

    "Cookies are disabled
Your browser's cookies seem to be disabled. Ads Preferences will not work until you enable cookies in your browser. How do I enable cookies?"

Which is fine by me. I noticed though within this past year that I would get occasional ads for things that seemed too specific to my interests so I suspect my online info is still being collected, etc.

It thinks I'm 8 years old - so does my wife - so does my mother - so do my children.

And you know what? Know what? Know what? Hey! Hey! Know what I say to them? I just say, " I know you are, but what am I?"

Information collection and cookies are two very different subjects. You can not stop the collection of information. Though you can them think it was some other IP.

Cookies are more reliable for google because they are stored by user on your machine. Most people's IP address gets dynamically reassigned from time to time, and is shared with the rest of the people on your network.

I'm a 65+ year old who likes shopping for apparel, with an interest in software and device drivers.

Well, at least they got "Georgia" right.
