Painting / Rhinoliner'ing a sidemount helmet.. Has anyone?

I'm unfamiliar, got a brand name? I was just going to try Krylon flat black, but is there a specific plastic paint? Model airplane paint maybe? What you describe would be the way to go.

MAR-HYDE is the brand that I have in my garage. It is called "Vinyl Color Spray". I think that NAPA used to sell their brand also. You should be able to find it at most auto parts stores.

I repainted my LM helmet using Krylon spray paint. It sticks to everything, gets a nice matte black color.

Use lots of coats, and re-coat if there's chipping.

Krylon makes a paint just for plastic called Krylon Fusion. I haven't used it for this application, but it seemed to work well on some plastics I painted around the house.

I used Duplicolor Bed Armor, ain't cheap at $12 a spray can, but the finish looks good and so far has held up well. Finish looks like wrinkle paint.
