    you replace the crotch strap with a legit climbing harness, but almost all of the bp/w's will withstand the shock of a fall. whether or not it's comfortable for the climber is the question. That 2" webbing has some SERIOUS tensile strength. Like 3-5 tons tensile strength. That's plenty for dropping a 300lb guy plus 300lbs of gear plus a whole lot of other stuff. We've shock tested a few different brands and have gotten 2-3 tons out of most of it and usually 4-5 tons of constant pull.

    You take out the waist strap and crotch strap and weave in a climbing harness

    seriously..?? I thought you were after a modular system, even if it is sidemount only rig, you still want to have the freedom to remove or change some features. The butt plate with the bent d-rings for a start!!
    If you have a puncture in your wing, you have to service the whole rig...how is that a good idea?

    Anyway, I don't know why I try to discuss this on Christmas week-end...
