Default So I Bought A Kindle Fire... CDF Banned!?

I bought this new pretty cool gadget but when trying to access the CDF I get a message on it that the admins have banned my IP address. I'm in a hotel in Arlington VA and the laptop works fine for access but not the tablet. I think it would be the same IP address but I did read something where Amazon's browser is handling net traffic differently. Any clues?

I have no idea, but hi from about 35 miles away!

The city I work for shows up as banned on CDF. Can access other sites fine. The city must have got a good deal on a well used IP address.

It's too big. When we're driving to Florida, it seems like we're in Virginia forever! (I-81 to I-77) Why can't it be 12 miles across like Maryland?

It's shorter (but more boring) on I-95.

If you want big, go E-W across TN or top to bottom across FL. Or diagonally from Farmington, NM to Carlsbad, NM for a weekend of caving.

Fortunately the only parts of Florida I'm interested in are near the top.

I've done some really long drives in Canada setting up or coming back from canoe trips - some of those provinces and territories are BIG! Hundreds of miles on roads like the Trans-Labrador Highway, which despite its grand name is a gravel road.

I don't really mind Virginia, or any other part of the 1490 miles from my house to Dive Outpost. We just regard the road trip as part of the fun. The Shenandoah Valley is very pretty - looks a lot like Vermont. And by the time we get there we're (usually) no longer driving in snow. Then we stop in Roanoke and have breakfast with my nephew...I'm ready to leave now! But I'll have to wait until February 4th.

This is all well and good. I'm cool with Virginia- I used to live here though I am leaving tomorrow.

What I am concerned with is that my home location is 35 miles from Dive Outpost. And so on. And the fact that I will be in the Middle East for a while means I hope the Kindle Fire works wrt CDF access.

    Tks

argh! I know. I do this all the time back home. I live in Naples Florida, but am stationed in Ft Stewart in Savannah Georgia. I75 up to I10 to I95. Yuck. I tried I75 to Miami to I95 north but that was worse. Horrible drive that I do back and forth once a month.

It appears others have had similar issues with the Kindle Fire. YMMV, but this seemed to be a solution for one user:
