Recently I have gotten some interesting ideas off of the forum to try out with my SM diving. I've been working on my rig trying to get it more dialed in. Today a number of things came together.
First, I am presently diving a Nomad that had the old style bungees, until today. I took some webbing, a few grommets, and a bit of bungee and made some loops very similar to the pics posted by Diverlee (thanks for posting). Upon trying this setup in the pool, I found using the webbing and loops shifted the tanks just a bit closer to my feet. Worked on the trim a bit, and I am really happy with the result.
Then, I thought of "Chicken Wings". Not just because it was close to lunch, but Shirley and DA Aquamaster indicated they were told this is a good maneuver for attaching floaty 80's beneath primary SM tanks to keep them off the ceiling. Just happened to have a couple of light 80's so I brought them to the pool as well and worked on chicken wings for a while.
With my tanks a little further back and the concept of chicken wings in my brain, it was easier than I thought it would be. Probably spent 30 minutes moving tanks from the top to the bottom on left and right sides. Just like a kid with a new toy. I have found the "one smooth move" that DA Aquamaster referred to.
There sure are at least some folks on here that know what they are talking about. Thanks again.
Heading up to Ft. White next weekend and I can hardly wait!
