    Default blocked from site.

I was in China last month and tried to log on to CDF and was denied. I really missed being able to log on and keep up with what is happening in the community. I am just wondering why. thanks in advance for any answers.

Sorry man, but we get so much spam, etc., from China that we blocked a large portion of the Chinese IP addresses.

I'm a software developer, and one of our third-party component vendors gets their support forum spammed on a regular basis. From the ads that make their way into that forum's threads, many appear to be from China. It amazes me that anyone considers such spam to be a viable marketing scheme.

Sitting in Shanghai right now and no problems, so guess everything from China is not blocked. I can't get on Facebook, though, no matter what.

Is it possible that the blocking is happening on the local ISP side? Doesn't China block (censor) some stuff specifically?

Reminds me of when we lived on an old navy base (Tsoying) in the Republic of China in the late 70's and we were told our phone was bugged so my brother and I would pick up the phone now and then and yell some bad words we had learned in Chinese.

You can bypass the Chinese Govt censorship! HotSpot Shield is a free proxy that will assign your PC a US Based IP address to access content in the USA. I wouldn't pay bills or anything financially sensitive with the service except to browse web. Free download here from CNET Download.com. Let us know how it works out for you in the land of the censored.
