Okay, it looks like I'll be there after all. Sign me up to sell raffle tickets.
(Don't worry - Lynn hasn't dumped me. It's just that my being at the graduation might make her ex feel uncomfortable.)

9/11....... I remember .........
I have experience here. My daughter graduated in June (during the dang workshop). My ex brought her new bf to Houston and brought him to the graduation, but they sat across the auditorium. It was a little awkward, but the weekend was for Sarah, so I decided to grin and bear it. Sarah and I talked about it and her feeling was that if he had ever been part of her life, it might have been more appropriate (she met him once last year while visiting her mom), but as it was, she felt uncomfortable more for me than anything. I assured her I was big enough to not let it bother me, and that she should enjoy her day and be glad her mom was there.
Little girls are treasures. Mine has had way more than her share of heartache so any stress I can remove from her the better.
+2 here,
but really, you know if it makes the ex uncomfortable, that makes the daughter uncomfortable too. as a stepfather i see the tension when the bio dad is around, no matter how we try to reassure. personally i am thankful for the biodad, he fills a need that no one else can.

Since the thread went a little off topic, surprise surprise with this group...LOL. I decided to put the remaining positions out again. If anyone has an interest in a position but is not confident in doing it just contact me about your concerns. Especially the Co-Chair position would be best to get into as early as possible. This will provide good information for Chairing the position for 2013.
Open Positions:
Co-Chair
Venue Coordinator
Exhibitor Coordinator
Descriptions of each position are in the first post of this thread.
Many thanks to Forrest for taking the Audio/Visual position.
Thanks,
Bobby

Is there no one that will step up and help with the workshop? There are three positions left and I know we have people that can easily fill them. Presently I am wearing all 4 hats and the others that have jumped in to help are taking on more as well. You don't have to be a local (though it would help a little for venue coordinator) to fill these positions. I live in Jacksonville but could just as easily be back in NC and still be the chair much less take on a coordinator or co chair position. If interested please contact me.
