    Default 2012 NSS-CDS Workshop volunteer positions

    I am the chair for the 2012 CDS workshop. A good amount of leg work has been done yet I need help to make the event a go. The following positions are open for anyone willing to put the time into making the workshop a success.

    Co-Chair: Works with Chair on this year’s workshop. Acts as a back up to the Chair and assumes the Chair position for the following year.

    Activities Coordinator: Sets up the workshop activities; field trips, guided dives, vertical training, discussion groups, hands on mini workshops, IUCRR classes, etc.

    Volunteer Coordinator: Attracts, tracks, & schedules volunteers for the workshop. Registration, setup, photography, sales, raffles, name badges, etc.

    Audio/Visual Coordinator: Sets up, tracks, & manages audio/visual equipment for workshop. Data projectors, laptops, slide projectors, cables to connect them, remote mouse, laser pointer, etc.

    Venue Coordinator: Sets up, tracks, & manages venue requirements. Where the workshop will be held, exhibitor space, presentation space, additional space for staging etc. Tables, chairs, podium, etc.

    Exhibitor Coordinator: Works with signing up vendors to exhibit at the workshop. Tracks commitments, payments, and organizes exhibitor space at the workshop.

    Marketing Coordinator: Works on marketing the workshop. Advertising, “T” shirts, signs and directions to the workshop.

    Presentation Coordinator: Works with the presenters for the workshop. Schedules the presenter’s times, manages breaks, & tracks presentation subjects. Schedules & manages awards ceremony (Abe Davis, Outstanding Service Award, new NSS fellows, etc.)

    I can tell already that the 2012 workshop is going to be AWESOME!

    Yes, it is. Which is why it's killing me that I have to miss this year's. My girlfriend's daughter is graduating high school (in Colorado) the day of the workshop, and I have been told in no uncertain terms I'll be present.

    And I was all set to break last year's record for raffle ticket sales...

    as much fun as we may have with Russell............... a lot is involved with presenting a great workshop..... I emailed Bobby
