Default Light & Motion Sola 4000

Does anyone have any experience with these lights? Looking to get some feedback regarding success/failure in cave settings...I've posted a similar question on another forum with only a few comments and thoughts there might be more activity here with them and since this is the environment I'd be using them in.

    Thanks,
    Don

Just got back from a week in cave country and I was hoping to post videos of what the Light and Motion Sola 4000 lights can do in various systems...but to no avail. All I continue to get is excuses as to why they still have not shipped...since L&M is causing me nothing but frustration and loss of revenue...does anyone have experience with Light Monkey's 50W setup and if so what are your thoughts? Would you purchase the same system knowing what you know now after using it? I'm looking for a company that actually stands behind their products and it certainly appears that Light Monkey's is stellar in the community.

    Thanks,
    Don

Andrew Ainslie used them (Light Monkey 50 watt) to shoot portions of Ginnie this Dec. I thought the lighting was supurb but then again its not Dipolder. He posted portion of the video on his Facebook site. As soon as I can raise the revenue that would be my lighting choice.

What is the deal with L&M? What are they telling you?

"What are they telling you?" Well, what day is it today? Everytime I have called & emailed to find out where in the world they are and why they haven't shipped the rep gives me a new excuse...that is when I actually talk to him as I have to chase him down to get the latest story...

Don't waste your time with the 4000. I dove a prototype version back in September that was unable to burn at full power. Since then they have shipped a few, but have since recalled them for some unknown problem.

Mangrove 4L6 are 4000 lumen, and much less expensive at $950 retail. I've used them for almost a year now and have loved them. Rock solid, 200 meter depth rating, and reliable. Only downside is they are very negative. Here's some video I shot with mangroves: http://vimeo.com/32825944 and http://vimeo.com/30499939

    Tienuts,
That's a very well done video and thanks for the heads-up on the Mangrove option. I am not familiar with those but the way you lit up Peacock is quite impressive. Latest excuse is an issue with the chargers...As an aside I've seen a couple of your other videos and have been impressed with your work.
