A true PADI Pitching Pro would have done theory online and successfully executed a pitch in confined water, under the supervision of a qualified instructor using a dummy tank. At that point the pitcher would be qualified to pitch to a depth no greater than 3ft/1m. Deeper pitching requires the Advanced Pitcher's course/card.
