Default Final NACD Annual Social information

Hey all, here is the final information on the upcoming NACD social posted on behalf of Ricky Dumm. The event is free to all NACD members and to participants of the NACD annual seminar. Dive fees at Ginnie are extra though.

November 11th is rapidly approaching and the NACD Social at Ginnie
Springs Outdoors is going to be in full swing. This year the social is
going to be better than ever, due in part to it falling on Veterans Day,
fall weather is here and our membership is growing, so come out and
enjoy some time with fellow cavern and cave divers, friends, family and
the many military veterans we have in cave diving.

The social will kick off at 6 P.M. (1800 for the vets) and what a better
way to start than with some live music with Timeless. Their blend of
smooth jazz will surely make it a great start to what will be a fun
    filled evening.

At 6:30 P.M. we will begin the chili cook off and the entries will
include hot, traditional and exotic. Our guest speakers for the NACD
    Seminar will be the judges.

7 P.M. the dinner will begin with grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and
plenty of sides and drinks. At 9 P.M. there will be a bonfire, smores,
cake and of course a keg. There will be more music from The Butsch
Brothers providing some good old rock n 'roll.

This is a great opportunity for everyone to get together, talk with old
dive buddies, meet new ones and welcome new members.

I thought you meant it was the final social of the NACD as in not doing it anymore.

LOL, I probably should have said final information. Gotta be careful with those adjectives.

Question - myself and two buds recently earned our NACD Cavern and Intro certs. As soon as we arrived back home, I submitted my NACD applicatioin, and have my membership card in hand. However, my two buds drug their feet a bit, and may or may not have their membership cards back by the 11th. We coincidentally planned a dive trip down to Ginnie the same weekend as the conference, so we won't be attending the conference itself, but were thinking about attending the social Friday evening. Anyways, my question is would my two buds be able to attend if they have not received their membership cards by then? Thanks.

Thanks RN. I'll just tell 'em, as a bona-fide card holder, I worked out a deal for 'em if they'll just cover my dive fees for the weekend.

The NACD is looking forward to seeing you at the social at Ginnie Springs this Friday. It is not too late to sign up for the chili cook-off. If you are interested in contributing some chili, contact me, and I will get you in touch with the right people.

The weather forecast looks to be cool so it will be a great evening to enjoy a bowl of chili.

Also, we should have some new hooded sweatshirts for sale if you need something to keep you warm.

See you this weekend. For more information, go to www.safecavediving.com or send me an email or pm.

A good time was had by all on Friday night. There was chili, burgers and dogs, music, refreshments, smores. and fortunately a bonfire. Thanks to Ricky and Tammy Dumm for organizing the social. Also thanks to Ben Bright, Chris Corbett, and Debra Green for all the work they did. If I left out names, please add. Ricky and Chris, I am thinking that a couple of three foot spatulas should be OK for next year.

Speaking of next year, put November 2, 2012 on your calendar if you want to attend.
    Safe diving,

    Sandy Robinson
