Default Not specific to cave... but

Interested to learn if any cave divers have found my book (The Six Skills and Other Discussions) interesting/useful.

It is not specifically aimed at cave divers but at the general "advanced" diver audience; however, most if not all of the techniques I use and have written about trace their genesis to caves and cave diving... which makes me curious to know what this community thinks about it. I know a few of you at least have bought copies.

I found your book to be an excellent supplement to Cave specific training materials. Much needed "why" answers to some of the basic tenets.

And I love the exposition on what you should plan to do before choosing to ignore common best practices!

I thought it was very informative and useful. A lot of good information, very well presented. I wish that I had had a copy of this book a dozen years ago.

Steve, your book is an excellent supplement to the standard cave-diving texts, which really don't address how a technical/cave diver needs to think about their dive. I like your discussion of visualization of trim as one example - to my recollection that isn't handled in a similar fashion in any of the standard texts that I recall. Likewise your discussion of deco planning/strategy was not covered in the standard texts.

My dive buddy has my copy right now, so other examples escape me, but I love the book and the comprehensive approach you take to the Six Skills. My Thanks to you for the effort you put into writing it, for the benefit of the diving community.

Ps - I owe you some BBQ if we ever meet up in Cave Country!

I'm on my second read of it. It is very useful and educational! Thanks!

One of the things I found most interesting and immediately useful was the idea of conceptualizing the dive in waypoints -- I made quite a bit of use of this during our recent Mexico trip. It was good for planning (especially the more complex gas planning we were doing) and for monitoring the dive in progress.

    Steve,

I will admit I have not read it. Do you have an autographed copy for sale?

Any plans to make this available as a digital download through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or Apple iBooks?
