What's the current status on this? When i was there a few weeks ago it was the way I thought it should be. If you exit the line it goes into a chain link and right after it was a line arrow which would tell you you are at the right side of the line and that's the way to the exit. I did not see one before, is it staying this way or is the plan to remove the one after the QL? If I remember it right it was an orange one?

My buddy attempted to mount that rock in July 08 during an out of an out of lights air sharing exercise, after a few minutes our instructor flipped on his light and we all had a good laugh at it.

I admit that I'm not in cave country as often as I would like but it seems that every time I overhear an instructor going over the dive briefing that they mention the quirk with the Peanut line placement. It seems to me if you want 'perfect' line placement you would be better off diving in concrete tubes where time has no opportunity to create quirks. When we first start driving, we all are taught the rules of the road and I have no doubt that we have all seen interchanges that were never covered in drivers ed.

While safety is paramount; I believe that the cave diving community does a disservice to itself by trying to remove too many variables in the effort to make every environment fit into the narrow confines of what a diver will see during training. I worry that by limiting those variables, especially in a place like Peanut where a lot of training takes place, we are effectively breading out a divers ability to deal with the unexpected.

I spend a lot of time on the gold line and I greatly appreciate the time, energy and expense that goes into maintaining and improving it. But I feel that we shouldn't try to over think all the challenges of cave diving; if you want that find a quarry with some concrete tubes.
