    Default Caverns Measureless to man

I'm about half way through the book and I'm just absolutely blown away by Sheck's dives as a kid. I have a new found respect for the rules from reading where they come from.

As I was reading the first few chapters It boggled my mind the choices he made, it all seems like common sense now but back then they didn't have a clue and it was amazing just to see that he was able to get out of those situations.

Yea, he must not have read Cousteau's books. I knew to use a line from his first book. Actually, my first "line" was 9mm climbing rope

doing the majority of my normal dives tethered to the surface, my first time in a cave the gold line looked very flimsy.

If you thought goldline looked flimsey, you can imagine my shock when I saw Sheck using #18 "kite string"

After spending the first three decades learning how much I do not know, I want to spend the next three understanding.

I normally use 4mm polypropylene, good wear characteristics and floats above the silt.

Although in this junction (not my line) the red line is parachute cord

OMG! The CDG is using line arrows!!! When did that start? When I first joined many years ago, they refused to use them
