The CDS lowered the price of this book to $25 recently. I had been looking at it but at $50, I wasn't ready to take a chance on it. When the price was lowered I purchased a copy and it arrived last week.

This is a great read! The historical timeline of cave diving was very interesting. The book is well organized and informative. Some of the biggest names in the sport are there as well as some of the lesser known (quiet types) that have made some great contributions.

I knew Forrest was involved in the early stages of Florida cave exploration. I knew Sludge had been around. After reading the book I was impressed with their contributions and love of cave diving. These guys have made some major contributions to training, education, and exploration of the Florida cave systems.

If you get the chance, read this book. If you are a CDS member it is an additional 10% off.

When the price went down, I purchased a copy as well. Each contributor did a great job and the editors cleaned it up very nicely. Unlike some books on the subject, this one is not filled with typo's, poor grammar or amateurish photos. For the most part, each author presents both sides of any controversial issue (in their subject area) and lets the reader form their own conclusions. I would like to thank everyone who contributed time and energy to the book, because I know that no one is going to make a ton of money off it.

Its an excellent book about contemporary cave diving approach. I bought it when it was published and never regret the money I spent. Mainly for two reasons: Firstly, for the book content and secondly, because the money goes to support NSS-CDS.
The fact that this book is on sales now, its a real bargain for those who missed it initially. It is also a very nice gift for any fellow cave diver...

Thank you, this was real labor of love. So much of our history is undocumented, and many of the people are no longer around to tell their story.
