Thanks much, Shriley!I guess it's just that some of us who don't get there that often tend to live a bit vicariously through CDF. It's just nice to be able to place faces to names, sometimes. It need not be *real* full names (for security purposes); either just first names, or even better, the "Cybername" since that's how I know many here.
Anyway, I'm glad to see such a valiant effort by the NFSA to keep our environments clean. And I hope to contribute to that effort by getting some visits in on the days when you are actively doing your projects/events.
We had fun across the river from you guys. I actually managed to talk some of the college students into taking their shoes off and wading in the river!
Next weekend is the Hal Adams bridge to Telford Spring Dive cleanup. Sign up on http://www.amigosdivecenter.com/cleanup.html
If the river is as clear as it was on the 25th the diving should actually be fun!

Kelly, Its always fun getting these students out in the "real" Florida! I think most of them think the outdoors is the mall parking lot.
Looking at the schedule we have one other dive cleanup on Oct 30th at Fanning Springs lead by Annette Long. We can use lots of help on this one supposedly the bottom of the river is coated with bottles. Contact information is on http://www.currentproblems.org/suwannee_cleanup.html
Also Wayne is leading a cleanup on 10/23 at Little River I do not believe it is a dive cleanup but if anyone is interested in getting into the river I am sure he will be OK with it.

My son is on the first picture! Wayne was kindly babysitting while...I... went... diving... and... did... not... help... ahem...
Actually we ended up not going so I got to ride on his cool boat and see them in action! What a guy that Wayne is!! And what a team! My son had a blast, told me all about the stuff he picked up and the wild critters he saw on the river. He is ready to clean some more!
I saw a lovely turtle.
