Default My first big dive lite!!!

Just got my first canister dive lite and I absolutely love it!!!! Although I've only been able to use it in a friends pool at nite so far, but daaaang!!!!!!! I got the Halcyon 21w 13.5a and that is one bright dude. I'm definitely excited to get it out to the quarry and get cavern certification sometime this fall. What is the preferred way to mount the canister??? I see that it can obviously mount to the belt, but does anyone mount it to their backplate??? Was just thinking of a good out of the way spot would be attatched on one side, but I'm also not experienced with the can lites so any insight would be great. Thanks and have a good one!!

Mounting it on the belt allows you to remove it easily, should the need arise (and it will arise as some point). It also keeps the can in tight against your body and out of the way.

Just a little heads up, the "13.5" is not volts, its amp hours. It refers to the battery capacity.

I prefer harness waist strap mount, up against the backplate. Use a weight belt buckle if you need to. Holds the long hose for proper hose routing.

Congrats on your excellent new light. It shoule give you years of great service.

Although I put mine on my waist belt, I've had several buddies attach their canister to their backplate (in pretty much the same location). This may be coincidence, but they were both very large people.

In backmount I like the belt, right side. Sidemount mines on the lower back.
