Cave Diver Arrow Higher rated places to stay?

I'm looking for a Diva worthy place to stay near High Springs. Normally I am not to worried about
accommodations and have enjoyed the Caddy and Country Inn. This time I have to do a little entertaining on the side
and keep the wife happy ect ect ect...

We did a Bed and Breakfast last time I brought her but we are looking for something a little different next weekend,
has anyone had the same dilemma? if so let me know what you came up with. Right now I'm looking at a commute from Gainsville.

    Thanks, Henry

    Thanks, Henry

The Best Western Gateway Grand might fit that bill. Right off of I-75 and 10 min. from the Alachua exit. Nice pool, restaurants around. It's sports themed because a lot of UF people visiting for the football games stay there. This place is a lot better than most Best Western places or hotels of that category. In fact, they have suites with whirlpool bath etc.

Check out the cave country lodge. It is really nice. I'm trying to get the wife to go there, but she's not really interested in any place in Florida that does not have a beach

Big Fan of CCL mentioned above. You just cannot get better than this place unless you want the food served to you in bed

My wife gave up camping when the RV got too small. Roughing it no staying at the Red Roof Inn. I would bring her here and not have a second thought. A pleasant afternoon on the Itchetuknee is minutes away...

I would second the recommendation for the HydroLodge. I stayed there during my Cave 2 class. It's very conveniently located on a quiet dead-end side street, but only a couple of minutes from downtown High Springs (such as it is ). It was clean and attractively furnished, and the kitchen was very functional. There was a big, covered carport in the back with a locking structure in which to hang gear and charge batteries.

It really depends on what your wife is looking for. If she wants access to a spa or exercise facility, or really spacious accomodations, it won't fly. But I was certainly very happy there, and it's a big step up from the Country Inn or the Days Inn in Alachua.

I run Chateau H2O in High Springs. It a fine place at a reasonable price. Contact if you want to learn more
