    Default condensation in dry suits.

So I have been diving a brand new whites classic dry suit. It the rubber/plastic/nylon type. Not the nicer crushed neoprene. Well today I was divine jb with it and wore sweats under it. Dove for about an. Hour never got cold but when I was done my sweats were damp...condensation? Sweat? Any one else have this problem?

I have that issue from time to time with my DUI. I think it is the heat outside. I get sweaty on the way to the water and then when I get out. I get the occasional valve or neck seal leak but I believe what you are talking about is sweat.

Ok so I don't have a major pos? That's good. Thanks for the input. Any thoughts on how to fix it?

Don't wear cotton as undergarments. If you want to totally cheap out, buy polypropylene long underwear at Wal-Mart.

Yep. And you can always layer up like you would in cold weather on the surface. Extra light/medium weight undies underneath, or maybe a fleece vest and some shorts for the core. Just have to keep in mind flexibility.

also keep in mind - if you're damp all over with a bit more in spots you usually sweat, it's likely condensation. if your arm or chest or back or any one place is drenched, more likely a leak.

water from leaks can migrate, though, so you get wet on your chest or belly when the leak is in a left side seam, or whatever. there's an excellent thread on the dive matrix about finding & repairing leaks if you're interested - and one day, you will be!

What I've learned to do on the surface between dives (big whoop, I know... ) is strip off the outer suit and underwear and tie both around my waist. Only my upper body (with a lycra skin on) is exposed, and that tends to let the sweat evaporate. This is, of course, during hot sunny days. During November, when the surface air is way colder than the surface water (and for 20-30ft. down), I don't even have to tie off the underwear. I figure that's a fair trade.... I don't have to get completely out of the drysuit (ie. take off the boots, gaiters etc.), and I can at least let my upper body cool off and evaporate the sweat.
