I am without words, for this is so unexpected and yet for one so accomplished! My thoughts and prayers to Wes's family and so many friends. I do not think Wes knew a stranger if they were passionate for caves. This is a major loss with huge shoes to fill. He will be mourned by many and most of all the caves of Florida from which he came.
Be at peace Wes and enjoy this dive! See you on the other side.

A terrible loss for his family, friends and the diving community as a whole.

    I have no other details.

I am speechless and heartbroken. My thoughts go out to all of Wes' family and friends. I was just thinking today what an amazing week for Wes, the Nat Geo cover. He was my inspiration since I was a child. This is a sad day.

I'm afraid I am choked for words... we have lost a pillar of our community, a creative soul and one who loved and protected our springs beyond measure. I miss my Redneck Bro... please remember him for all his passion for our crazy community and honor him through your own stewardship. He would have wanted that.

I'm so sorry for his family and friends, he was an inspiration to us all and if we could all love and protect the springs as well as he did, we'd never have to worry about diving our beloved caves.
Ever surprised by the amount of holes involved in cave diving.

I'm thankful that Wes has ensured it will be impossible for him to EVER fade from our or any future cave divers memory.

    Dive in peace Wes...
Have fun strapping on that big rebreather in the sky.
