Default CDF Social - July 3 at Ginnie Springs

We're having a hard time gauging whether or not enough people want to attend a social on July 3. We lost our Social Director, and nobody wants to step forward and take his place. I'll do it if we have a lot of people interested in going, but not for just a dozen or so people.

The social would be from about 9am until about 4pm at the Little Devil Pavilion at Ginnie Springs Outdoors. We would ask attendees to bring something (a 12-pack of drinks, some chips, a pack of burgers or dogs, or maybe some potato salad or beans) rather than paying to attend. Most people would have less than five bucks invested. Ginnie usually gives us a special deal on admission.

Shall we go ahead and do it, or hold off until September and hold one at Jackson Blue?

Would definately not attend on July 3rd at Ginnie Springs.

Would more than likely attend at Jackson Blue on a weekend that won't be rowdy with swimmers in September.
Ever surprised by the amount of holes involved in cave diving.

July 3rd is going to be difficult any where. Any thought about Madison? Great pavilion, and for the steep price of free!

Still a madhouse, but probably no alcohol(for better and worse), I'd atleast consider it at Madison :/

Ideally... a different date all together would be better IMO.

I dislike Ginnie as a location, its typically a madhouse, and comes with a larger price tag than any other venue. I consider it a lose-lose.

I try to work most holiday weekends. If I'm going to be around a lot of crazy drunks, I might as well be getting paid for it! Let me know when you want to do it in September at JB and I'll make some arrangements.

Other than no shade or parking how about EN? Could probably bypass all the crowds.
JB's bad enough in the summer let alone Ginnie.

Too many flies at EN right now. It would be a horrible experience.

JB park closes to swimmers after Labor Day weekend so it will be all ours at that time. It's also closed on Mondays throughout the summer.

Probably half of all attendees aren't qualified to dive Eagle's Nest. Then you have that "no shade or parking" thing to contend with...

Plus, a dive site where everyone had 3+ hours of deco wouldn't make the greatest "social"
