    Default Alternative to Buttplate

Here is the system / spreader I make...

It allows you to clip the rear of your tanks off instead of using a buttplate. It is small enough it stays out of the way. I have used two at a time when diving more than two tanks to make clipping off 4 tanks easy. You can clip in a couple tanks to one ring but having two on the crotch strap makes it eay with stage unclipping and so on.

Why not just use one of these? My buddy does and it works as well as my Armadillo.

Rebreathers are something that we have to go to in order to dive the way we want to dive. They are not something we go to for any other reason.

Here is the clip layed on top of a Nomad buttplate for size. This is the one I have been using so it is a little beat up. I can make these in any size someone would want. This isn't the for sale section so I won't discuss pricing here...but I will make an add up.

The school's filter blocks it for me; it shows up for me at home. I'm assuming FW has a filter issue, too.

Have you tried to remove your tanks under water yet. The only thing I see would be disconnecting and reconnecting under the water. being made of strapping makes it flexible.
I also wonder how it reacts to the tank getting lighter as the gas get used up. I prefer a stiff plate that long enough to set on my butt near my hips. As always it's what works for you.

This is three layers of very heavy duty 2" webbing. I use it on everything from 108's, AL80's, AL72's, AL40's, and it doesn't have much flex at all underwater.

Yes, taking tanks on and off is very easy, just as easy to find the spreader and clip/unclip as it is a waste d-ring. The only "float" up you will get when a tank gets lighter is from your stage kit, the webbing holds it down.

If someone was concerned about flex I can always add a layer of webbing or make it shorter, or even add more stitching. However, with the heavy duty webbing and the stitching I put in it, it is very strong.

Ok, So I made the same thing the other night with my heavy duty machine. took some time to make because of the simple layout and sticking. I have to say this is a real good option. When you stitch 3 layers of nylons webbing together is becomes very stiff. I also had a problem reaching my butt d-ring. After using this spreader for 8 dives so far no problems. I think MedCop is on to something. By the way I would charge more to make that. Great job and good luck.
