Just got the focusable one today, after taking a while to figure out it is not a twist on (has no manual and is really not easy to figure out) and that you actually have to put on a clip that then acts as a thumb controlled switch, the light turned on.
All I can say is wow! it is very bright, I would say a bit less than the salvo 12W but brighter than any 10W hid though, and is super focusable. I have never seen a light that even comes close to getting such a tight beam! it does not even look real, it looks like a light saber, very very impressive. There will be absolutely no problem signaling ever.
The focusing system is superb and goes from ultra tight spot to nice and wide extremey easily by twisting the tip of the light. I still can't get over how tight the beam gets and have been playing around with it for a few hours now.
Aside from that it is ultra compact and very well built and is actually good enough to be a primary. I have not tested it in a cave yet but will be next weekend and i will post a diving review then, the only criticism I have is that the switch mechanism is a slide on ring that although seems unlikely to come off could as it snaps on (very tight though so unlikely to come off but possible).
Still cannot get over how cool the focusing is on this light if the MB canister ones are anything like this that's it is is way way ahead of any HID focusing light heads and I think will be the end of HID's as LED's can now be focused way more tight and precise than any HID.

    Hi Phillip1,

where do you get the X1-VB?
I only ask why we attach allways a manual with our lights.

Btw, after our experience with the same switching unit on the PHOTON its absolutely impossible to lose the switch. If you will take off the switch, you need much force!

I agree, I have been trying to "accidentally" make the switch come off and it really does not at all.
The light is amazing this is what the future is in cave diving lights for sure.
The beam gets so tight it's like a lazer pointer!!!
