Ginnie Springs web site says "7 separate springs "

Well...I guess if you consider each entrace:

1) Eye
2) Ear
3) Little Devil
4) Ballroom / Ginnie

Where would 5,6,7 be?

Little devil is a syphon not a spring, but you could also consider July springs and you still have seven.....

Okay...thanks for the info.

I found that dogwood is a no mount type of cave, what about deer & twin as I can't find info on them.

GSO doesn't claim you can do a cavedive in all those springs, just that they are on the property.

Little devil is a syphon not a spring<snip>

I don't think so, except maybe during heavy flooding.

Here's a nice page:

I've been told that Little Devils is prone to sand slides and other hazards. Does anyone actually dive it? I've been down to the bottom of the fissure and it was a syphon on those occasions. It appears that the "larger" passage is to the right at the bottom of the fissure; although it is obviously small. The Berman map shows about 400' of passage on that side, about 1/3 of which is after a nomount restriction. Is any of this correct?

It was a spring-syphon system; right there at the bottom of the crack with the two separated by 3-4 ft of the crack. I dived the syphon side in the early 90's on a Y-valved 95 back mount; it was more than large enough. The entrance has since been covered over by sand and debris so that the spring side is the only detectable opening. The spring side is easiest done no-mount these days.

Wes and Woody shot video in there many years ago and showed it at a CDS workshop; it almost gave Henry Nicholson a heart attack and he proceeded to rip Wes a new one for irresponsible, not what the CDS stands for etc. Wes played that roll again at the work shop two years ago.

You would have to know Henry to understand :-)

If you haven't noticed, the NSS-CDS shows all manor of cave exploration videos at Workshops now.

From the NSS-CDS constitution:

ARTICLE II: The purpose of the organization shall be the same as that of the National Speleological Society (hereafter referred to as NSS), with the additional purpose of organizing NSS members who are interested in cave diving so that they may better promote the objectives of the NSS. These objectives include 1) promotion of the conservation, exploration, and study of underwater caves; and 2) education for increased awareness, safety, and skill in cave diving.

Notice the part about "exploration, and study of underwater caves". As much as I liked Henry, he never did any exploration, so I guess he didn't understand what all was involved.

The video was more sensational and extreme than anyone had seen at the time.
