I live in minnesota and dont know of any in the immediate area. Some instructors in the twin cities may have some experience with the subject but none that I know of.

However I believe Tammy at Diversions Scuba in Madison Wisconsin can teach sidemount.

she dives sidemount frequently from what I have heard so I would consider her to be the best option in the immediate area (that I know of).

But a trip to mexico would be a good option, there are a handful of instructors in the Yucatan who are well known for diving sidemount and at least 1 on this board (SMB). But learning in Mexico would be way nicer, its warm and clear and of course they have cave systems...

Where in minnesota are you located approx?

where are you located, I am diving sidemount in northern minnesota and am always looking for more dive partners?

The ice is no fun, I'm so sick of this winter stuff. A few dives under the ice per season is one thing but I have done my share this year.

I highly recommend Tammi Thomsen. She's been diving and teaching side mount for a long time. You would definitely benefit from her exploration experience. Best of luck with your training.

Safe diving,

Brian

We are near Duluth and have been diving all winter with a one month hiatus in FL. Where are you diving? We do have open water in the big lake. We mostly dive the northshore.
