Can anyone tell me if the Florida cave sites that require you to show a certification card, accept cards from all agencies NSS-CDS, NACD, GUE, IANTD and TDI or are some cards not accepted at some sites.
This is obviously excluding sites owned by the agencies themselves
Thanks

All cards are and should be accepted... If you ever have a question about a particular spot don't hesitate to call ahead.

Most will accept any card from a recognized agency. A lot of what you read pertaining to, "must be NACD or NSSCDS certified" has more to do with those agencies being responsible for acquiring access to that site. But as long as your certifying agency ascribes to a similar set of standards you should not encounter any problems.

I know it is hard to imagine, but I have been told by a local dive site that my PADI Cave Diving Instructor card is no good.
The best card is a VISA. Everyone takes those.

What is PADI's opinion about cave diving and snorkels??
I hope they instruct to use them as directional markers

Some shops don't take PADI because they feel that it's not up to snuff with their SSI Cave Instructor Cards.
I can't blame them... I've seen those PADI Cave Diver types in Ginnie...

PADI has mixed feelings about the use of snorkels and cave diving. They do not reccomend using a snorkel for cave diving , but have no good instructions for plugging the big hole in the top of your mask.

Jackson county ordinance 94-1 and 95-1 calls for "NSS-CDS or NACD certified cave diver only". I've never heard of them excluding anybody else.

My instructor is an IANTD instructor because NSS standards require depth of the system be less than 100 feet. Which excludes anything here is Wisconsin or even Missouri. But I just pay my membership to NSS-CDS to get access to Cow, etc.
I've never been turned away anywhere yet.

That is due to the fact that it was a group from NACD and the CDS that got the park reopened. As long as you are certified to the same standards you will have no problems there.

DeWayne,
Absolutely correct! I got two of my guys on file Sunday morning, with Temporary TDI Intro. to Cave cards. No problems at all.
Thanks,
Kenny P.
