I've stayed at the Chateau H2O twice now, in High Springs, and really enjoy it. It's a 3BR 2BA house on several acres, so it's quiet and peaceful, and only 5 minutes from Ginnie. The house isn't fancy, but it's always clean and there's plenty of space for multiple-person parties. The best part is the outstanding artwork that decorates the walls, compliments of artist and Chateau owner Michael Angelo Gagliardi. The rates are extremely reasonable, and they include gear lockers, high speed wireless internet, washer/dryer, an outdoor campfire area and charcoal grill, and lots of solitude. Give it a shot next time you're in the area.

Yes, I agree. It's a very nice place to stay, three bedrooms, one is a master bedroom with a private bath. Nice kitchen, washer/dryer and a large gear rack outside near the hose. Kitchen/dining is ideal classroom area for 2-4 students. And out and way from the hubbub of town or campgrounds, it's a nice quiet retreat. We invited a few people over for an evening bbq under the stars - really very peaceful, quiet, and all around pleasant.

Agree it is a nice place. Guess they never got around to covering the outside drying rack? We got a little rain last time and a cover over the drying area would have been nice (drysuit, etc). Of course, the indoor dryer has a lot going for it.

Thank you all for yoour kind words. I have worked hard to make a quality place for cave divers to stay. Building a cover over the padio area is on the list of things to add. The recession has hit this small business as bad as it has hit the dive industry as a whole. Limited funds made me make some hard choices, I chose to add wireless internet and Dish TV this year. The cover is still on plans for the future just not sure when.

For future reference, what are the rates?

Our "Official" rates are $115 a night for up to 6 divers. However I am running an economic stimulus cave diving package of $100 a night thru the summer. I recommend 4 divers for comfortablity but will allow up to 6. Its a three bedroom with the master bedroom now having a Queen sized bed and its own bath. the second bedroom has a double bed the third bedroom has two singles. Theres a second bath off the living room. We just added last summer high speed wireless internet and Dish Tv. The full Kitchen has a dry earse chalk board so class can be taught there. There is a laundry room and padio with Gear racks heavy tables and lockers. My e-mail is MA9001@aol.com for any questions.

I recently stayed at the Chateau for 5 nights during a rebreather course. The home is very well suited for cave divers with the tables, lockers and gear rack adjacent to the driveway. Plenty of parking for several dive vehicles and lots of privacy. Ten minute drive to Ginnie or Amigoes, 5 minutes to CEE. A nice place to stay at a good value.

Tommy and I stayed at the Chateau H20 for the last couple of days while diving Ginnie and I must say it is a great place for Cave Divers to stay! It is obvious that the place has been designed for Cave Divers by Cave Divers. :arrowgreen If you're in this area, give Michael Angelo a call. You will not be disappointed!

I only got one dive in last week during my trip down to the cottage. but I made alot of improvements. We added a screened in gazebo we are calling the second hand lounge and a sun screen gazrbo over the gear section of the patio. It has a nice retractable awning. Also added an indoor charging station for dive lights

Nothing like a little duct tape to really spruce up the place ;) When in Rome do as the Romans...

Looks good, can't wait to get down there and see it in person.

Cheers,
Jeff

As a visitor from Australia I recently stayed at Chateau H2O for 6 nights with my husband. Conveniently located and geared towards the cave diver the cottage is very comfortable with lots of privacy. I would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to the High Springs area. Thank you to Michael Angelo for making us feel very welcome. It was very nice to come home to welcoming messages on the answering machine throughout our stay.

We recently spent 9 nights at the Chateau H2O. We had a total of 6 divers staying there during that time. We have no complaints and found the place to be very comfortable. It is located less than 10 minutes from Ginnie Springs and less than 5 to CEE. I would recommend that Chateau H2O for any divers looking to stay in the High Springs area especially if you are with a larger group.
