Any shorter people out there diving the Nomad? I want to get my wife into one but she's 5'1" and i'm not sure if it will fit her properly.

I am 5'4'' and dive an XL nomad. Because the transpac is on the outside of the wing I had to go a couple sizes up, as recommended by Edd at CA. Your wife may look like a turtle though if she is tiny, the nomad has a 60lb wing now which is pretty big.

You may try renting one at some place like Amigos, that way you could actually get in the water with it before you shelled out any big $$.

I measured her back as the site shows and she should fit a medium. I'm in a large so that kinda makes sense. I've sent her measurements to Edd and we'll see what he has to say.I would love to have her try it on but that's not really an option. We have a DR dealer in town but hey have limited stock.

The smallest nomad you can get is a medium. I'm 5'2" and with a drysuit a medium is just fine. I could make it even smaller if i wanted to so it'll probably be fine for her.

Just ordered the medium from Edd today. I'll let you know how it fits.

Well, my wife has done a few dives in the Nomad. I have removed the butt plate as it is too big for her. I am now faced with re-attaching the crotch strap and am looking for ideas.

You might try the older "buttplate". It is much shorter, and has no "towell bars". It is basically webbing and D-rings.
