I dove last summer twice with my nomad after I ordered a hose kit from cave adventures. I figured the hose kit would get me close to what was comfortable but I think I didn't order the right one.

I got 15" inflator hoses for the suit and wing, they are to long for sure so I am going to order some shorter ones in the next couple days.

I dont know if I should go with the 9" that that are on cave adventures website or request 12" ones that would be special order (they are not on the site anyway though he likely has them in stock). 9" seems like it might be to short but since I cant gear up and jump in the water right now I cant really get a measurement.

I'm 5'6" and about 165lbs and use 15" bungees w/chokers right now. my inflator is in the stock location also.

I would like to keep eveything as short and clean as possible but I dont want to drop another $40 for nothing.

anyone my size using the short 9" hoses with success?

Thanks for the help.

I have an assortment of inflator hoses in my dive trailer. If by any chance I run into you at a spring you're more than welcome to try a couple of various sizes to see what works best.

Of course, by looking at your screen name, there's a good chance we won't be running into each other... :smt102

Thanks for the offer but I highly doubt I will be in cave country anytime soon. loosing my job to lay offs has caused me to drop all my travel plans for the year.

had a trip to mx planned, 1 to florida, and a possible doria trip but now nothing and I had to say no the the breather and I'm thinkin even the new light will be out of budget too.

thanks again and sorry for the rant.

FWIW, I'm 5'10" and I'm using a 9" inflator hose. My inflator comes off my side, not off my shoulder. Use it with HP130s and AL80s without any issues. I route it under my shoulder strap and it meets the inflator at the chest strap, keeping it secure in the middle of my chest.

Rather than buy new hoses I have another suggestion.
Why not order some compression fittings then you can cut your 15 inch hoses to whatever length is just right for you.

Yes.
It's a compression fitting.
Cut your hose to whatever length you want and you just need 2 wrenches to remove or replace them.
They will last far longer than the hoses and can be used multiple times.
I got some from AP Valves years ago for my CCR hoses and they are still going strong.
